David studied Pharmacy at the University of Georgia prior to transferring to Fresno State University, receiving a degree in Enology. Earlier work and consultations included positions in North Carolina, New York, Australia and the Republic of Georgia.

2012 Super Bowl of Wine
February 4th, 3:00 - 6:00 pm

Please note that the time of the Super Bowl of Wine is extended to 6:00 pm to accommodate the larger number of customers we expect to attend, and to make it convenient for those wishing to join us on their way to dinner.

Please join us to taste the selections of Cori and Chris, whose respective weighted scores are 8.636 and 8.55 versus 2011’s winning score of 7.877 by Richard. The challenge is on to select the best quality wines, while staying under the $20.00 threshold.

Join us to taste the selections of the players with the highest scores of the three rounds leading up to the Super Bowl of Wine.  Each will select:  A Chardonnay, a Wild Card White, a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Wild Card Red, each with a retail value of $20 or less.

Their selections will be tasted blind, and the customers in attendance will vote on the wines they preferred, ona scale of 1-3, with three being the highest score.

The Super Bowl game winner, the wine selections, and the scoring of the wines will be announced on the Events page of our website on the following Monday for the benefit of our customers unable to join us on the 4th.

“J” Vineyards and Winery – Tuesday, February 21 - 7:00 Reception - 7:20 Seated Tasting - Limited to 36 – Reservation Required

Please join us for a tasting of the wines of “J” Vineyards and Winery, led by Melissa Stackhouse, Vice President Winemaking.  After spending time in New Zealand working on organic farms, Melissa decided to pursue grape growing and winemaking, receiving a B.S. in viticulture and Enology from U.C. Davis. While earning her degree and in the years following, she has worked at Robert Mondavi, Peter Michael, Joseph Phelps, Sterling Vineyards, Alexander Valley Cellars and La Crema. At J vineyards and Winery, Melissa builds upon existing programs built around the ten Estate-owned vineyards, while developing long-term relationships with key growers in the Russian River Valley.

Founded by Judy Jordan in 1986, J Vineyards & Winery began as a producer of critically-acclaimed sparkling wines.  However, Judy, always curious and innovating, came to the realization that her vineyards would also be ideal for producing site-specific, cool-climate Russian River Valley varietal wines like Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris. J is renowned for its hospitality. It would be great to visit their acclaimed tasting room, the J Signature Bar, at the winery just south of Healdsburg. In fact, Sunset Magazine named J the Best Tasting Room in the West.
