Founded in 1889, Mayacamas stands as one of the most storied vineyards and winery operations in the history of American wine. Through its more than 125 years of production, Mayacamas has earned its place as a standard-bearer of traditional winemaking, and the source of some of California’s most iconic and longest-lived bottles.
Mayacamas has had a program of re-releasing Cabernets directly from the cellars at Mayacamas. At 20 years of age, this wine is aging beautifully and is a classic Mayacamas. The bouquet is blossoming and is flat out stunning, offering a complex blend of cassis, black berries, cigar box-tobacco, tilled earth, smoky tones and a nice touch of cocoa powder. The wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and rock solid at the core, with moderate tannins, great focus, grip and a very long and perfectly balanced finish.
