NOTES: Bright and beautiful, this gathers a wonderful ruby/garnet beam of light thoughout the glass. Aromatics are lifted, bright, and concentrated. The nose reflects pretty red currant, morello cherry, and sweet pomegranate notes against a backdrop of sandalwood, cigar-box and mineral driven earth tones. Medium bodied this drinks like a champion and as great as it is right out of the gate, it will only get better in the bottle. WE LOVED IT! -KEITH
ABOUT THE FASET CRU IN BARBARESCO
The Faset Cru is one of the most prestigious vineyard sites in Barbaresco. It's a vast amphitheater shaped, hillside vineyard situated at 850 feet in elevation. The ampitheater shaped Faset gathers plenty of warmth from the morning and afternoon sunshine. This steep and sunny vineyard is located on the highest part of a hill overlooking the Tanaro River to the west and the medieval town of Barbaresco to the northeast. It sits adjacent to one of the greatest CRU in Barbaresco; Asili.
The soil of Faset Vineyard is greyish-white calcareous marl with broad veins of sand running through the site. The soils here are rich in minerals among which magnesium and manganese are heaviest in concentration. (these minerals act to reduce the yeilds naturally.)
